Contracting the Mid West since 1998
Here's a little history behind Mid-Plains
and the product we use...
Mid-Plains Waterproofing is a professional sub-grade (basement) waterproofing company and certified installer of EZ Breathe Ventilation Systems, the most advanced clean-air machines available today. Mid-Plains was founded in 1998 and have quickly become the most noted and respected waterproofing company in our area. Our guarantee is longer and our technique is better than any other on the market today. Our trained professionals are clean and very conscious about getting the job done right the first time. They take good care of the work site and the only notable difference will be that it is dry.
We at Mid-Plains Waterproofing use a state-of-the-art chemical grout injection system which is unsurpassed in quality and performance. The chemical is forcibly injected into the area of concern where (in a pre-determined time) it will set to form a non-biodegradable, permanent gasket. It is non-shrinking, non-drying and remains pliable, never breaking it's seal. It is virtually odorless and is placed within the concrete structure so it is forever out of human or animal contact. Before vacating the property, the workmanship is put through a substantial hydrostatic test so you won't have to wait until it rains to know it works.
Recently, Mid-Plains was graced with a nationwide article written by Indumark Publications of New York City. The story concerns Hutchinson Community College and the successful end to a water problem in their facility. Here is a link to that story.
Although formed in 1998, our product has been utilized since the late 60's. The chemical (originally invented by Haliburton) was only used early in government facilities such as earthen dams and missile silos. The process was modified for an appropriate, and very effective, way to utilize the chemical in a residential basement. Once the process was perfected, work began waterproofing any and all subgrade structures. In 1998, John Bredvick took control of the process, and after extensive training, founded Mid-Plains Waterproofing in Hutchinson, KS. Mr. Bredvick soon took the business to a new level and contracted the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center. A local non-profit organization affiliated with the Smithsonian Institute.
The engineers of the Cosmosphere said the process was too good to be true and that Mid-Plains would have to prove to them that the leaking sub-grade museum could be fixed with such a simple solution. Mr. Bredvick simply asked the engineers to allow for a demonstration of our process in a small area at no charge to the organization. They agreed and the next day, as you can see by the pictures below, Mid-Plains won the contract and the expansion of Mid-Plains Waterproofing began.
As the doors to the elevator were opened, the engineers of the Cosmosphere were happily amazed at what they saw. The once continously leaking elevator pit was now as dry as a bone and Mid-Plains was off and running.
Recently, in 2008, Mid-Plains was awarded our greatest accomplishment yet. A 5 year renewable contract with the State of Kansas. We still work in residential basements, commercial facilities and industrial sites. But knowing that we hold a 5 year renewable contract with the State, should tell you the we at Mid-Plains come highly qualified, highly trained, and highly recommended. I guess you could say we've come full circle. Our process started out being used exclusively in government facilities, and now... everywhere else INCLUDING government facilities.
When you call us, you will talk to an easy to listen to, down-to-earth individual who will leave you with no doubt that Mid-Plains is absolutely 100% the right choice. We will never leave you with questions, we will take personal care that you are satisfied and we will never ever forget the key to a successful contract is the satisfaction of previous customers.
